Resolution: The density of the light beams, which determines the size of the objects that can be detected. Response time: How quickly the curtain reacts to an object breaking the light barrier. Protective height: The total height covered by the light beams. Range: The distance over which the light curtains can effectively detect interruptions. Certifications: Ensures compliance with safety standards.

Type 2 curtains are used for lower-level risks where slower machine stop times are acceptable. Type 4 curtains are used for higher levels of risk and provide a faster response to hazards.
