ABB's Guard I™ Noise Isolation Transformers provide common mode noise attenuation between neutral and ground and transverse mode noise attenuation. Common mode noise is caused by electromagnetic interference, radio interference and ground loops. This attenuation is through a copper shielding between the primary and secondary coil windings decreasing the capactive noise coupling that can upset the electrical system. The Guard I™ transformers are UL Listed and UL Energy Verified. They are available with aluminum or copper windings and in all three temperature rise ratings and available as low audible noise varieties as well. Qualified to the seismic requirements of IEEE-693-2005 and IBC-2021 and CBC 2022.
